About the event

Don’t miss the world premiere of Romantic Chopin – immerse yourself in the extraordinary world of one of the greatest composers of all time and give yourself the chance to take part in an unforgettable musical event.

On September 19, Art Box Experience at Warsaw's Norblin Factory will host the first public presentation of the immersive exhibition Romantic Chopin, organized in collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin Institute (NIFC).

About Romantic Chopin - Immersive Exhibition

This is the first production of its kind in Poland, combining modern technologies with classical music to take viewers on a sensory journey through Chopin’s sounds, emotions, and the artistic world he helped shape. The exhibition is a unique blend of art, history, and innovation—a tribute to one of the greatest composers of the Romantic era.

Visitors will embark on a journey into the world of Fryderyk Chopin, following his path through letters and from the piano itself—from his family home in Żelazowa Wola, through the salons of Warsaw, the turmoil he experienced in Vienna, to the artistic bohemia of Paris. It is a story of his life, love, music, and inner struggles—seen through the eyes of his contemporaries and interpreted for today’s audiences.

The exhibition offers a spectacular yet intimate experience, bringing together music, visuals, narration, and light. It presents Chopin’s circle—his friends and fellow creators of the time—such as George Sand, Eugène Delacroix, Honoré de Balzac, Franz Liszt, and fellow émigré Adam Mickiewicz, along with lesser-known moments from Chopin’s everyday life. It is a space where classical music meets modern storytelling.

Exhibition Structure

The exhibition is divided into eight thematic zones, beginning in a space inspired by a 19th-century manor in Żelazowa Wola. From there, visitors follow Chopin through Warsaw, the city of his youth, musical discovery, and political change. The journey continues through Vienna and then to France, where the mature Chopin composed and lived among the cultural giants of his time.

Key Features

  • Interactive Musical Sculpture – An innovative installation that allows visitors to “touch” Chopin’s compositions, blending contemporary art and technology with timeless music.
  • Immersive Room – A 45-minute experience where visitors discover the artist’s biography through letters and historical documents, surrounded by moving imagery, soundscapes, and narration.
  • Interactive Tree Installation – A cutting-edge display that enables direct interaction with people closest to Chopin: his parents, sisters, friends, and beloved George Sand. This AI-powered feature draws the viewer into a personal narrative shaped by Chopin’s relationships.
  • Virtual Reality Experience created by Platige Image – A remarkable journey that takes viewers from a modern cityscape, through the inside of a piano, and even into outer space, illustrating how Chopin’s music continues to resonate with new generations.
  • Final Hall Dedicated to the Chopin Competition – An overview of the legendary International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, its history, laureates, and its role in promoting Chopin’s music worldwide.
