About the event
Dylan Mills MBE, widely known as Dizzee Rascal, is a pioneering British rapper, producer, and songwriter from East London who helped define the sound of grime. He became the youngest-ever winner of the Mercury Prize at 19 for his stark, inventive 2003 debut album, "Boy in da Corner". Broadening his sonic palette, Dizzee achieved massive mainstream success with a string of era-defining pop-rap anthems, including "Dance Wiv Me," "Bonkers," and "Holiday," ultimately securing four UK No. 1 singles. As a cultural fixture, he was invited to perform at the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony and was appointed an MBE in 2020 for his services to music. Continuing his prolific run, his 2024 releases—the bullish album "Don't Take It Personal" and the surprise EP "I Invented Grime"—underscore his knack for club-primed beats as he regularly headlines major festivals and European stages.
