The artist is back in a great style, and we will hear her live in August.
AMADOU & MARIAM
The duo was founded in Bamako, the capital of Mali in the mid-1980s and they write their story continuously for over 35 years! Mariam Doumbia and Amadou Bagayoko are a unique musical couple. They met in the centre for the blind and were connected by love and music. They quickly gained great popularity throughout West Africa. In the mid-90 they decided to move to France to look for new inspirations and opportunities. They were world-famous thanks to their collaboration with Manu Chao, which resulted in the album "Dimanche à Bamako". Throughout their career, Amadou and Mariam happily combined their love story with their musical career. In their work, apart from African music, you can hear a wealth of eclectic sounds where the African tradition meets the popular music of the Western world. They are said to be the most famous ambassadors of Malian and African music around the world.

A Moroccan artist gifted with an extremely strong, seductive voice, who freely combines various musical genres in her work. Oumm's songs are inspired by jazz, soul, gospel and African music, traditional Moroccan music and the rhythms of Gnawa and Hassani, thanks to which the artist has become an ambassador of Moroccan culture and is called a Moroccan diva.
The quintet was founded in 2006 in Algeria. In their music, you can hear West African, funky rhythms, a subtle shade of traditional Saharan folk music as well as the fire and emotionality of Rai's Algerian music. Their name in the local language means "the one you care about".
Tamikrest means passage in the Tuareg language - the nomadic people of the Sahara. The band combines Tuarene culture with sounds and visions from other parts of the world encountered during endless tours. You can find dub, blues, psychedelia, funk and even art-rock in their music. They come from Kidal, in the northeast of Mali, but war, persecution and the political crisis have forced most of them to emigrate to Algeria. Their third album Chatma (2013) is a fully convincing and poetic document of their experiences. Chatma became number one on the World Music Charts Europe, took high places on the Mojo, The Independent, fRoots, The Quietus and Uncut charts, and in 2014 Tamikrest was named Best Group at the Songlines Music Awards. At the African Beats Festival, the band will promote their latest album, Tamotait.

The brass section features saxophones, trumpets and trombones in various compilations. Their music is a fusion of different genres and they call it ethno-fusion. The rhythm section draws inspiration from the rhythms and songs of West African griots that they collected during their journeys across Africa and Europe. The wind section from the Slavic region, the Balkans, Latin America and modern music.
