Hala Stulecia
Located in the Śródmieście district of Wrocław, close to Szczytnicki Park (ul. Wystawowa), Centennial Hall was constructed between 1911-1913 under the supervision of Max Berg. It has since hosted a vast number of world-class events. In 1913 the World Athletics Championships were held here, and exactly 100 years later, it played host to the World Championships in weigh-lifting. The year 1963 saw the Polish men’s basketball team take second place in the European Championships. More recently, Centennial Hall has hosted the European Men’s Basketball and Women’s Volleyball Championships (2009) as well as the 2016 European Handball Championships. Besides large-scale tournaments, this 10 000-seat venue has also been the scene of some major boxing matches such as those featuring Polish stars Andrzej Gołota and Tomasz Adamek.
